  • You lose everything. When Mailchimp shuts your account, you lose your contact list, your email history, your automation sequences — everything. I’ve seen people lose months of work overnight
  • No appeal process that works. Getting a suspended Mailchimp account restored is nearly impossible. Their support team sticks to the TOS and moves on
  • The free plan got worse. As of 2026, the free plan limits you to 500 contacts and 1,000 emails per month. You can’t even do a proper welcome sequence at scale

A guy in my affiliate marketing community spent six weeks building his list on Mailchimp. He had 1,200 subscribers. He sent one email with an affiliate link to a digital course. The next morning his account was gone. No warning. No second chance. Six weeks of work, deleted.

Bottom line: If you are doing affiliate marketing, do not use Mailchimp. I don’t care how popular it is. Popularity does not equal suitability.
