Start with a real word list

Make your first collection.

Use the vocabulary from the pack you are working on, or start with the Woodland theme.

1. Choose Word Search. Give your collection a title. Add 3 to 20 comma-separated words using English letters.
2. Choose the page count. Start with three. The demo supports up to three puzzles; the Creator Pass supports up to thirty.
3. Choose the format. Pick a difficulty, paper size and optional publisher line.
4. Build the collection. Click Build collection after changing settings. New variation changes the seed for another set.
5. Inspect the answers. Turn on Show answers and move between pages to check the matching solution.
6. Download the PDF. Keep Include answers in PDF selected. Three puzzles produce six pages including the three answers. Print at actual size without scaling.
7. Keep your work. Creator Pass users can save on this device, export a project JSON file, or use the optional cloud library. Keep a downloaded project copy as a backup.

Continue in your design workflow

Creator Pass users can export an individual puzzle or answer page as SVG. Open it in a compatible editor and check the import before using it in a finished pack. Compatibility varies by editor.

Add another puzzle type

Choose Maze or Cryptogram for a separate collection. One collection contains one selected puzzle type. A cryptogram uses your own short message; a maze generates a new route.

Before you publish or sell an activity pack

Review the words, answers, age suitability, page size and final design. Check the requirements of your printer or marketplace. PuzzleTrail does not create covers, research niches or upload listings.
